From The President's Desk
After treating hundreds of Patients battling cancer as a Surgical Oncologist, for the past more than 14 years, I have witnessed the challenges faced by cancer patients. The journey of treatment for cancer becomes more challenging when the patient comes from an underprivileged section of society.
During the fight against cancer, it is not only the patient who suffers, but his/her family suffers too. Sometimes the patient is the sole breadwinner of the family; sometimes he/she is a parent, sometimes someone doesn’t even have money to make ends meet, and sometimes people suffer to regain their normal lives as they were before cancer.
Seeing such situations firsthand, it felt my humane, moral, and societal responsibility to help these patients, their families, children, and cancer survivors in the best possible manner I can. That’s when the idea of the ASTITVA Foundation came to my mind.
The ASTITVA Foundation is not just a Cancer NGO or simply a Cancer Care Foundation; it is much more than that. Our foundation does not only provide cancer treatment support for the needy, but we extend our support to the cancer survivors through our rehabilitation programme, particularly for women and farmers.
We recognise the importance of education for the children of these families. Through our foundation, we strive to support their educational pursuits, ensuring they have the opportunity to achieve their dreams, especially for girls.
Together, with your generous contributions and unwavering support, we can make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. Let us join hands to bring hope, compassion, and a brighter future to all those in need.
