To support this important phase of life, Astitva Foundation has started a special service in partnership with AIIMS Rishikesh. From February 2026, breast cancer survivors will get post-treatment care and support services at AIIMS Rishikesh.
This program is created to help women regain their confidence, dignity, and quality of life after breast cancer treatment.
💖 Why Post Breast Cancer Support is Important
Many breast cancer survivors go through mastectomy (breast removal surgery). After surgery, women may feel:
- Loss of body confidence
- Emotional sadness or fear
- Difficulty in wearing normal clothes
- Swelling in arms (lymphedema)
- Pain and discomfort
Medical treatment saves life, but post cancer care helps women live better. That is why breast cancer survivor support services are very important.
This new service focuses on:

The services include two very important things for survivors:
🔹 Breast Prosthesis (For Post Mastectomy Survivors)
A breast prosthesis is an artificial breast form worn after mastectomy. It helps women look and feel balanced again.
Benefits of breast prosthesis:
- Improves body shape and posture
- Helps women feel confident in public
- Reduces stress and sadness
- Makes daily life more comfortable
- Restores self-image and dignity
For many women, wearing a breast prosthesis is not only physical support. It gives emotional strength and helps them feel normal again.

🔹 Arm Stockings for Lymphedema Prevention
After breast cancer surgery, many women get arm swelling (lymphedema). It happens because lymph nodes are removed or damaged during surgery.
Arm stockings help by:

- Preventing pain and stiffness
- Supporting faster recovery
- Avoiding long-term problems
These lymphedema arm stockings are very useful for women who had breast cancer surgery. Early use of compression sleeves can prevent serious complications in future.
